Qualities of a Young Successful Entrepreneur

Written by Cody
August 25th, 2009

Contrary to popular belief, success is not measured in dollars signs. As far as I am concerned you can be making more money than Bill Gates and still remain unsuccessful as an entrepreneur. What am I talking about? I’m glad you asked. You see, some people are so interested in money, money, money that they miss the entire point. The point of success as an entrepreneur is freedom. Period.

If you’re trying to become an entrepreneur to show the world how “successful” you can be, then I am sorry friend but you’ll never be truly successful in life. In the words of John Candy from the movie “Cool Runnings”, “the thing about an Olympic gold medal is… if you’re not enough without it, then you’ll never be enough with it.”

Money doesn’t make people successful – successful people make money. Success is a mind-set, a worldview, an outlook on life. Success is that part of you that always wants to believe that the glass is, indeed, half-full. It is belief in yourself and others.

So, What are the Qualities of a Young Successful Entrepreneur?

  • Determination – Never quit but be willing to readjust to changing circumstances.
  • Vision – Maintain long-term goals and dreams for you and your family.
  • Perseverance – When the going gets tough, the tough get going.
  • Humility – Develop the attitude of a servant.
  • Activity – “Faith without works is dead.” Put some action behind your ambitions.

For continued reading I highly recommend the book, “The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People” by Stephen Covey. For more information on me and my business you may contact me using the information below.

Free Printable Online Coupons

Written by Cody
August 23rd, 2009

Me and Chela (my fiancee) have gone on a bit of a coupon spree the last few months. I had no idea how much you could save by clipping coupons, searching for online discounts, comparing prices, haggling with salespeople and generally being more bargain conscious overall.

Which leads me to an important point – money will not fix your money problems. Don’t think that once you have more money you’ll spend any less than you do right now. You’re spending on a percentage. Right now how much of your money are you spendng and how much are you saving? If you’re spending all or most of your money (like most normal people are) that won’t change no matter how much money you’re making.

If you can find a way to spend $24,000 a year then you can find a way to spend $250,000 a year. (I know, my mom and dad have made $250,000 in network marketing before and they found creative ways to spend it all.) So be wise with your money. Here are a few tips for beginner bargain hunters:

  1. Search Google for Coupons, Discunts and Promotions
  2. Shop Around
  3. Ask if the Store Does “Price Matching”
  4. Walk Away if You Aren’t Satisfied
  5. Shop Online (Even With Shipping You May Pay Significantly Less)

Quick Testimony – Chela and I just decided on my wedding band. At first we found the ring I liked at a physical store in the mall. The ring was $795 before tax. We went to another store and found the same ring for $750. That’s $45 cheaper. We still weren’t happy so we researched the ring online. We found the same ring for $610 online. We then searched Google for any coupons or discounts for this online store. We found a 15% off coupon and we got an additional 2% off for doing a bank wire transfer instead of a credit card.

This brings the total to $506.30. Now, of course, we have to pay shipping and tax but look at the results from where we started! We found the exact same ring for $288.70 less! Wow!

Happy Bargain Hunting Entrepreneurs!

The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey

For anyone wanting to get involved in any type of investing I highly recommend Dave Ramsey’s book, “The Total Money Makeover”. Though he says that this book is by no means an intensive guide on investing, it does give you a great outlook on money and investments altogether.

I think entrepreneurship is one of the greatest investments you will ever make for you and your family and that’s exactly what it is – an investment. Being an entrepreneur means you are building something, usually from the ground up. It will involve great sacrifice in the beginning, yet it will yield unheard of returns in the years to come.

When you become an entrepreneur you allow your money to move with you. For most people their money is tied up at their job. If they ever get sick, move away or get tired of coming in every day, they will have to forfeit that money.

When you are self-employed you award your family unheard of flexibility and freedom.

So why isn’t everyone self-employed? Being an entrepreneur is great but it isn’t right for everyone. It takes a certain “drive” and “desire” that not everyone possesses. Some people are happy where they are, or maybe they’re unhappy but still unwilling to do anything about it. For these people being an employee is OK. For others, like myself, being an employee is not wretched or awful, but it isn’t what I want for the rest of my life.

Are you ready to make an investment in your future? It doesn’t matter how old you are, now is the time to get started. Call or email me today.

Hey everyone,

I just got back from my summer job staffing at a camp for 14 weeks. I’m ready to get back to being a young entrepreneur again! After all, businesses don’t build themselves, right?

I’m fresh on the prowl for prospects. So what about you? Are you happy where you’re currently sitting financially? Are you happy with your job? If you thought “no” for even one second then I want to hear from you.

This is my direct email – I won’t keep it up long so you’d better email me today.

P.S. So what’s this all about? What would I be doing? How do I make money? Those are great questions. You’ll just have to talk to me to find out. Or you know, you can keep doing what you’re doing right now… keep getting that same lousy check month after month…

Be a Part of Young Entrepreneur History

Written by Cody
March 19th, 2008

Hey guys,

This is an exciting time in my life and I want you to join me for the next five years as I shoot for $100,000 a year in “residual” income – income that continues to come whether I’m on the Beach or in my vacation home in Tokyo, Japan or in the middle of Nevada rolling a Nissan Xterra – all that – by the age of 25.

Think I can do it?

Man, what am I thinking? I haven’t even introduced myself.

My name’s Cody and I’m 19 years old right now. I’ll be 20 in two months. I like playing guitar, driving my Mazda RX-7 and offroading with friend. I also love astronomy and looking at the stars. I like being outside when I can and I like it when it rains for an entire day. (Assuming I don’t have to be out in the rain…)

What about you? Introduce yourself here!

EDIT – Important Notice!

Cody
